INSTRUCTIONS
This unit is useful for indentifying hot and neutral conductors, finding the breaking point along the wire. Detecting voltage in lighting fixtures, outlets, switches and fuses and cables.
Note: Round cords may have twisted conductors. Check for hot conductors by sliding the unit along the cord.
Note: The tester can be used to find a break in a wire:
  • To find a break in a hot conductor, trace the wire until the signal stops.
  • To find a break in a neutral conductor, connect a load between the hot and neutral. Trace the wire until the signal stops.
1. Turn the unit on by rotating the switch to choose the gear as high gear or low gear. Meanwhile the green LED will flash 1 time and beep 1 time when "Low V" or "High V" is selected. This indicates the battery is okay.
2. Test the unit on a known live circuit before each use.
  • At low gear (L), if the voltage is more than 220 V AC, the red LED glows and the buzzer beeps. At high gear (H) if the voltage is more than 80 V AC, the red LED glows and the buzzer beeps.
  • If the unit does not function as expected on a known live circuit, replace the battery.
3. Place the probe tip on or near circuit or unit to be tested. Buzzer and flashing LED indicates the presence of voltage (24VAC~1000VAC).
